What exactly is JBC Media Box?

The JBC Media box was created as a simple solution to quickly and easily turn an HDMI sourced monitor into a digital sign.

What is a portal?

A portal is a cloud based access to update and manage your digital content.

Once I purchase the JBC Media Box, what do I do next?

Inside the box there is a very simple set of instructions on how to connect the JBC Media Box to your display. We advise going to jbcmediabox.com, click on Tutorials and view JBC Setup and Activation. Please just view the full video the first time, then if needed start the video over and pause as needed to perform the steps for the setup.

After my Free 30 days of unlimited portal access, what happens when I want to change my content?

It’s very simple, anytime you have no more Portal time available you will be directed to the section of our site to purchase more time to make changes. You may purchase a couple of hours of Portal access or a couple of years, it is up to you. You control your spending. Portal access as low as $5.00 for 2 hours.

When I purchase 2 hours of Portal access, how does that work?

If you are purchasing 2 hours of access, have all your content ready to upload. The 2 hours is from the time you make that purchase. So, you will want to make sure you are ready to make the changes at the time of purchase.

How do I know how much time I have left to work in the Portal?

When you are logged into the Portal there is a countdown timer which clearly displays the amount of Portal time remaining (Days:Hours:Minutes).

Do I have to wait for time to run out in order to purchase more time in the Portal?

No, there is a “Purchase Time” button on the screen. What ever amount of time you wish to purchase will be added to what you currently have remaining.

What happens if I am in the middle of uploading my content and I run out of Portal time?

You will be directed to the screen where you may purchase more time and when you return to the Portal it will be just like you left it, you will not lose your work.

Do I have to make changes to my display every month?

No, that is the really nice thing about JBC Media Box, you can leave the same content up for as long as you like (a week, month or year) at no cost to you.

What does the box come with?

The JBC Media Box comes with everything you need to get your Digital sign up and running including, The Media Box PC, HDMI Cable, Remote control with Batteries, and On-line Portal access.

How do I update the content instantly?

If your player is connected to the internet and the HDMI cable is plugged into both the JBC Media Box and the TV, your media will update automatically within 5 minutes.

Does the JBC Media Box Support Wireless Networking?

Yes.  The JBC media Box supports wireless networking.  You may use the remote control to set up and configure your wireless connection.

I want to rotate my monitor. Does the JBC Media box support this?

Should you rotate and hang your television in Portrait position, The JBC media box will allow you to rotate your static artwork from the online Portal to match the screen orientation. Video rotation is not supported at this time however you may rotate your videos in popular video editing software to the 16 x 9 layout and achieve the desired result.

What are the minimum number of slides?

The minimum amount of slides you need is 2. If you would like 1 slide to play, just upload 2 slides with different names.

Internet and Playback

Do I need internet for playback?

No.  The JBC Media box will continue to play your content once it’s been loaded to the box without internet.

How do I update my content instantly?

Hit the home key on your remote.

What's the best size for my videos to play back smoothly?

For best playback, we recommend resolution no greater than 720P in 16X9 orientation.

Who creates the content for the display?

Content creation can be done in many ways. The least expensive is if you create and load your own content. If you want to use pre-designed menu templates DS Menu is available in your Portal in the templates tab.

Troubleshooting

No video preview.

Make sure your Ad Blocker is disabled.
